Dorothy Josephine (Wayne) Malone, 92, of Hudson, formerly of Keanburg, NJ and New York, died on Saturday, June 28th at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert A. Malone who died 2007.
Dorothy was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Roy and Agnes (Nelson) Wayne. She resided in New York for most of her life where she cared for her home and raised her daughter. She later resided in Keansburg, NJ for 10 plus years until finally settling in Hudson with her daughter Kathy and her husband Harry for the past 7 A½ years.
Dorothy had many interests throughout her life but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed all the special moments with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoyed puzzles including Word Search and playing Suduko. Her family will always remember her bright shiny blue eyes and the way she celebrated life, especially with them. They will miss her greatly.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Currier and her husband Harry of Hudson; her two loving grandchildren, Adrienne Santos and her husband Fil of Sterling, Stephanie Desmarais and her husband Rick of Dracut and her three adoring great grandchildren, Anthony and Tyler Santos and Jade Desmarais. She was the sister of the late Thomas and William Wayne.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 2nd at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Immediately following the mass, Dorothy will be laid to rest with her husband Robert in the Holmdel Cemetery in Holmdel, NJ, Garden Crypt Mausoleum. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Tuesday, July 1st from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
Kathy requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dorothy may be made to: Camp Sunshine, a retreat for children with life threatening illnesses and their families, "my heart is in this because it was so important to my Mom" 35 Acadia Road, Casco, ME 04015 (www.campsunshine.org).
