Douglas Ross Wessell Sr., 77, of Marlboro, MA, died in Boston Sunday, May 7, 2006. He leaves his wife of fifty years Ann (McNamara) Wessell.
He was born in Waltham, MA, son of the late Harry and Jean (Ross) Wessell. He was a graduate of Waltham H.S. class of 1947. He retired as a Tech Sergeant from the military in 1968 serving in the U.S. Army and Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. After retiring from the military he worked for Hay's Development in Concord. He was an avid fan of the Red Sox and Patriots and especially enjoyed attending the local Marlboro Shamrocks games with friends and family.
Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter Robin and her husband David Anastas of Marlboro, his son Douglas Wessell Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Franklin, two sisters; Marge Grapes And Doris Woods both of California, his grandson Brenden Wessell of Franklin and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Gerald Wessell.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 9, 2006 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home Inc, 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in the Bourne National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
