Edith I. Ainsleigh, 81, of Marlborough, passed away peacefully on, Monday, October 16, 2017 at Reservoir Center Nursing Home in Marlborough, after a period of declining health.

Edith was born in Marlborough on July 17, 1935 a daughter of the late Charles and Louise (Carter) Ainsleigh. Shortly after she moved with her family to Hudson where she was raised, graduated in the class of 1954 and spent most of her life. Edith worked as a Key Punch operator at John Hancock in Boston for many years before she eventually retired.

Edith was a lifelong member of the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts and spent over sixty years as a Scout Leader. She loved attending services at the Unitarian Church of Hudson and Marlborough and she was a very active member.

Edith leaves behind two sisters-in-law, Sylvia Ainsleigh of Ashburnham Ma and Patricia Ainsleigh of Westborough Ma; many nieces and nephews; her dear friend Anne Mariano and all of her beloved friends at the Unitarian Church of Marlborough and Hudson. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her four brothers, Charles H. Ainsleigh, George L. Ainsleigh, Richard S. Ainsleigh and Frank L. Ainsleigh.

A Celebration of Edith’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Unitarian Church of Hudson & Marlboro, 80 Main St. Hudson, Ma. Committal services will be held at a later date.
