Edward G. Fortmiller Jr.-58, of Hudson, MA, died peacefully at home Saturday, June 24, 2006.
He is survived by his wife of thirty one years; Joan (Tyler) Fortmiller.
Born in Baltimore, MD.
Ed served his country in 1968-1969 at the 24th Evacuation Hospital in Vietnam as a corpsman. He spent twenty five years with Digital Equipment Corp. as a computer software engineer. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist serving in many capacities including; deacon, and webmaster for the College Church in S. Lancaster. Ed believed in volunteer work devoting thousands of hours of service. His most enduring legacy is his design of a website on the meaning and importance of the Bible Sabbath; www.sabbathtrail.org.
Besides his wife, Ed is survived by nine brothers and sisters including; William Fortmiller of Northhampton, PA.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the College Seventh-day Adventist Church, 337 Main Street, South Lancaster, MA. Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 27, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (www.tighehamilton.com)
