Edward Furtado, 86, of Hudson, died Tuesday, Dec. 6th at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in Marlboro. He was the beloved husband of the late Ada (Walther) Furtado who died in 2008.
Edward was born in Portugal, son of Manuel and Beatrice Furtado. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was employed as a mechanical engineer by the Raytheon Co. in Andover for many years until his retirement.
He is survived by his five children, Joyce Borzumato of Hudson, Lorraine Beiulieu of Bracey, VA, Deborah Barnes of Hudson, Edward Furtado of Leominster, Michael Furtado of Chittenango, NY; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his former wife Alyce (Santos) Furtado of Hudson.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, Dec. 9th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. in South Dartmouth Cemetery, Elm Street, South Dartmouth. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Dec. 8th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749
