Edward Rooney-92, of Hudson, MA died Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at his residence in Hudson.
He was the husband of the late Alice V. (McGeever) Rooney who died in 1992.
Born in Cambridge, MA, he was the son of the late William and Rose (St. Martin) Rooney.
Mr. Rooney was a graduate of Cambridge Ringe & Latin H.S. in Cambridge, MA and later served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He has resided in Hudson since 1964. He was a former coach for the Hudson Little League baseball program and was a former semi pro hockey player.
He was employed as a payroll supervisor by New England Electric (National Grid) in Westborough for 45 years prior to his retirement.
He is survived by his daughter, Edna Vinagro of Kennebunk, ME; 2 sisters, Marie Di Leo of Cambridge, MA and Eleanor Aqualino of Canton, MA.
He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, Dec. 7, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michaels Church 21 Manning Street Hudson MA. Burial will be in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours Thursday, Dec. 6, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
