Edward T. Garrity, 89 of Hudson, MA, died Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at St. Patrick's Manor in Framingham.
He is survived by his wife of sixty one years; Margaret E. (Coleman) Garrity.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children; Thomas E. Garrity, James M. Garrity, William P. Garrity, Patricia Morel all of Hudson, MA and Maureen Sappett of Clinton, MA. He is also survived by his fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was the grandfather of the late Michael A. Morel Jr. who died in 2000.
Born in Marlborough, MA, he was the son of the late Thomas F. and Florence H. (Holt) Garrity. He was a gradute of Marlborough H.S. class of 1936. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. as a Tech Sgt. during WWII. He was employed for twenty six years as a bus driver by the former B.W. Bus Lines in Marlborough and later was employed by Brandeis University for ten years as head custodian until his retirement. He was a member of the Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michaels Church 21 Manning street Hudson, MA. Calling hours will be Friday, September 22, 2006, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will be in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson.
