Eleanor M. Mercuri -82, of Nashua, NH, formally of Hudson, MA, died December 20, 2006 at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Nashua, NH.
She was a long time resident of Hudson before attending Symmes Hospital School of Nursing in Arlington, MA. She entered the military in 1953 and served overseas as a technical instructor and flight nurse for the U.S. Air Force until her retirement in 1973. She was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam era. She received several decorations and medals including the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster. She retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
She resided in Nashua, NH after retiring from the military.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews Sandra Rossi of Marlborough, Joann Maverick of ME, Suzanne Beauvais of CT, Patty Fernandes of DE, Albert Rocco of Framingham, MA, and Larry Mercuri of Hudson, MA. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Rose Ferrechio, Laurina Maverick, Jane Rocco, Lorenzo and Francis Mercuri.
A memorial mass will be celebrated Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michaels Church, 21 Manning street, Hudson MA. Burial take place at Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson at a later date.
