Elizabeth Jane (Collette) Campbell (77) passed away on December 24, 2018 surrounded by family in her home after a long battle with cancer. Elizabeth, known to family and friends as 'Betty', was born in Marlborough, Massachusetts on October 26, 1941. She was raised by her parents in Hudson, Massachusetts and attended the Hudson public schools. After graduating from Hudson High School in 1959, she completed a 1 year Business course at The Worcester School of Business Science. She married Ted, her husband of 55 years, on April 21, 1963 at The First United Methodist Church in Hudson. Together they raised 3 children in their family home in Hopkinton. In their retirement years, Betty and Ted moved to Carver.
Betty worked as a bookkeeper and was most recently employed at The Carroll Center for the Blind in Newton for the last 15 years of her career. In her free time, she enjoyed cross-country road trips with her husband and children, ball room dancing, playing games, visiting with her grandchildren, and watching boats on the Cape Cod canal. Above all else, she was a dedicated, loving, and supportive wife, mother, and grandmother. Of all her life accomplishments, she was the most proud of her family.
She is survived by her husband, George Theodore "Ted" Campbell; her son Edward (Ed) Alexander Campbell and his wife Michele; her son William (Bill) Julian Campbell and his wife Kristin; her daughter Heather Jean Thomas and her husband Robert; her grand-daughters Rosalynn (Rosie) Sieglinde Campbell, Margaret (Maggie) May Campbell, and Amy Lyssa-Jane Campbell; her sister-in-law, Suzanne Way; and other extended family members and friends who will all miss her dearly.
In heaven she joins her beloved grand-daughter, Chloe May Campbell, and her brother, Richard (Dick) Collette.
