Elizabeth C. (Sedlacek) Kelley

Hudson, MA

Elizabeth C. (Sedlacek) Kelley, 93, of Leominster, MA former longtime resident of Hudson, MA, passed away at home with her family at her side, on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Lt. Col. Robert P. Kelley, (retired Air Force), who passed in 2018 and her oldest son Michael Joseph Kelley in 1980.

Elizabeth was born and raised in Linz, Austria, daughter of the late Julius and Maria (Brandstetter) Sedlacek. In 1947 she emigrated to the United States to marry her beloved Robert and reside with his family for a short time in West Roxbury, MA. Due to Robert’s service in the Air Force they resided in several locations during his long career until taking up residence in Hudson, MA in 1967. They truly enjoyed their time in Hudson, becoming very active in the community including Elizabeth’s time as a swimming instructor at Centennial Beach for the Hudson Recreation Dept. She worked for many years at the former Jordan Marsh store in the Shoppers World Mall in Framingham, MA. She has been residing in Leominster with her daughter Cathy for a short time.

Elizabeth is survived by her 2 sons, Peter J. Kelley and his wife Ann of Maynard, MA, John D. Kelley and his wife Elizabeth of Yarmouthport, Cape Cod, MA; her 4 daughters, Elizabeth T. Stanley and her husband George of Florida, Patricia Kelley and her wife Ann Derzon of Portsmouth, NH, Murphy V. Boyle-Mann and her husband Steve of Hudson, MA and Cathy Kochanski and her husband Michael of Leominster, MA. She also leaves her brother, Van Sedlacek and his wife Helga of Austria; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews along with other relatives and friends and her devoted and loving cat Mavie.

Elizabeth enjoyed many activities throughout her life such as needlepoint, coloring and crossword puzzles to name a few. She always looked forward to a round of golf with her husband Robert and playing bridge with friends and as a member of a bridge club. She enjoyed traveling, especially back to Austria on many occasions to visit with her brother Van and his family. She loved and cherished her family and will always be remembered as a loving and caring individual by all who loved and knew her.

A period of visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am, on Friday, September 16, 2022, at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA; immediately followed by a celebration of her life at 11:00 am in the funeral home. A funeral cortege will process from the funeral home to Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson for interment, following the celebration  of her life.
