Elva F. (Semas) Mattos, 81, of Marlboro, former longtime resident Hudson, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her residence in Marlboro. She was the loving wife of 52 years to the late James W. Mattos who died in 2004.
Elva was born and raised in Taunton, daughter of the late John F. and Rosalina (Perry) Semas. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Taunton High School. She moved to Hudson along with her husband in 1964 and took great pride in the raising of her family and caring for their home. Since 2005, she has resided with her daughter Gail and family in Marlboro. She cherished spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and had a passion for shopping. She was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
She is survived by her four children, Kevin Mattos of Worcester, Gary Mattos and his wife Wendy of Worcester, Sharon Lund and her husband Alan of Holden and Gail Hendrix and her husband Brian of Marlboro. She is also survived by her four loving grandchildren, Natasha Mattos of Worcester, Brandon Hendrix and his wife Payson of Hudson, Tyler Hendrix of Worcester, Tiana Hendrix of Marlboro along with her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her 15 siblings.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, Aug. 8th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Thursday, Aug. 7th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
