Eric "Swanny" S. Swanfeldt

Eric “Swanny” S. Swanfeldt, 35 of Berlin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at UMass Medical Center in Worcester, surrounded by his loving family, after sustaining injuries from an accident on his ATV.

Eric was born in Framingham, MA on March 29, 1983, a son of Stephen Swanfeldt and Annette C. (Staniunas) Crossen.  Eric was raised in Marlboro and later in Hudson, where he attended high school. Swanny has resided in Berlin for the past eight years, where he was a self-employed carpenter.

Swanny enjoyed golfing, deep-sea fishing, riding dirt bikes and most of all helping his son Hunter race his dirt bike.  Eric loved his family very much and was always the first to tell them he loved them. He was a dedicated father and son and a truly special person.

Eric lived life to the fullest every day and loved those he met along the way. His infectious smile and contagious laugh brightened the lives of all whom he came across; and his upbeat personality and generous nature will be forever remembered by everyone that knew him.

Eric’s passing leaves behind many heartbroken loved ones. He is survived by his son, Hunter J. Swanfeldt; his parents Stephen Swanfeldt and Annette C. (Staniunas) Crossen; his stepmother, Laurie J. Swanfeldt; his stepfather, Scott R. Crossen; his siblings, Thomas J. Swanfeldt, Corey A. Crossen and Christine E. Crossen; his companion, Annie A. Stanley; grandfather, Norman A. Swanfeldt; his uncle Richard Swanfeldt; aunt and uncle Paula and Tim Gilliatt; his ex-wife and mother of his son Lisa Colpitts and many more aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 3-7 pm on Sunday, April 15, 2018, at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749. A funeral service will be held at 10 am the following day on Monday, April 16, 2018, in the funeral home followed by a procession to Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson for interment.
