Erin M. Roderick, 4, of Hudson, died on Saturday, March 28 after a courageous battle with brain cancer at her home with her loving parents at her side.
Erin was born at Emerson Hospital in Concord on June 23, 2004 and attended the Forest Avenue Pre-School in Hudson. She loved dancing, taking lessons at the Center Stage Dance Studio in Hudson and enjoyed coloring. Erin always looked forward to preparing special meals with her dad and all the wonderful times spent with her mom and 6 year old brother Jack. Her favorite color was pink and she cherished her stuffed animal "Hippo" who has been at her side since the onset of her illness. Erin will always be remembered for her courage and the special way she impacted the lives of so many, especially those at the Jimmy Fund Clinic in Boston.
Erin is survived by her loving parents, James and Michelle (Wayda) Roderick of Hudson; her brother Jack Roderick whom she cherished and loved dearly; her grandmother Patricia (Teahan) Roderick of Somerville, wife of the late Jackson Roderick and grandmother Rachel (Rush) Wayda of Hudson, wife of the late James Wayda and her great grandmother, Marion (Gallagher) Teahan of Medford. She is also survived by her aunt and uncles, John Roderick of Tewskbury, Robert Roderick of Hudson, Robyn Lees of Maynard and James Wayda of Sandown, NH and her many cousins.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 1 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 31, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749.
