Boylston, MA - Ernest G. Savoie, 76, of Boylston, passed away on Saturday, August 29, surrounded by his family.
He is predeceased by his dear wife, Nancy and 2 great grandchildren. He leaves his children - Deb Blais and husband, Mike of Berlin; Sherri Fiorentino and husband, Rick; Lauri Cormier and husband Steve; Scott Savoie and wife, Nicole; Steve Savoie and wife, Jen - all of Boylston; 17 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. He also leaves his siblings, Shirley Savoie of British Columbia, Canada; Norman Savoie of Oxford; Carol Colacchio of Berlin; Yvette Doucett of Northboro. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ross Savoie.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, he was the son of the late Joseph and Therese (Hachey) Savoie. Ernie was a veteran of the US Army, serving in the Korean conflict and a very proud citizen of Canada. He worked as a carpenter his entire life, eventually founding Savoie Modular Homes with his 2 sons. He was an active member of St. Joseph the Good Provider in Berlin.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 2 from 5pm-8pm at Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, September 3 at 10am at St. Joseph the Good Provider followed by burial at St. Michael's Cemetery in Hudson.
