Fay “Fabiola” E. (Dumas) DeRuvo, 93, of Northborough, MA formerly of Hudson and Marlborough, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at Beaumont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Northborough, after a period of declining health. She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Richard A. DeRuvo, who predeceased her in June of 2011.
Fay was born in Marlborough, MA, on September 4, 1925, a daughter of the late Harry and Estella (Girard) Dumas. She was raised in Marlborough, MA, where she attended high school and lived throughout her early life. She later moved to Hudson, MA, with the love of her life, Richard DeRuvo, in 1958, where they lived until he passed in 2011. Fay worked for LaPointe Machine and Tool Co. in Hudson, MA for many years as a machine operator, before retiring.
Fay had a competitive spirit and the drive of a champion which began at an early age and flourished her entire life. An avid golfer and longtime member of Marlborough Country Club, Fay was Club Champion for 28 years and a State Champion several times. Fay was a perfectionist, she did everything to the highest level and the best of her abilities. This included her many hobbies such as, fishing, archery, bowling and most recently poker at the assisted living. She was truly a strong person and inspiration beyond her time.
Fay leaves behind her loving nieces, Jane Carlson and husband Anthony Danzilio of Hudson, MA and Joanne Fox; her nephew, Steven Adams and wife Patricia of Leominster, MA; her sister, Claire Temple; sister-in-law Gladys Adams; great-nieces, Kristen Carlson and Kellyn Carlson and great-nephews, Shaun, Jamis, Dana and Randy Adams, Nathan Fox, and Aaron Fox . In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Edward Dumas and her nephew, David Adams.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11 am, on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson. TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St. Hudson, MA is honored to be assisting with her arrangements.
