Fernando F. Goncalves, 43, of Hudson, died Friday, March 2nd at UMASS Memorial Healthcare, University Campus in Worcester. Fernando was born in Searraquinhos, Montalegre, Portugal, son of Davide Goncalves of Portugal and the late Helena (Ferreira) Goncalves and has resided in Hudson the past 21 years after moving from Portugal.
Fernando was a self employed Mason, specializing in stone work and the construction of walls and walkways. He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson, a member of the Hudson Portuguese Club and enjoyed spending his spare time with his three children.
Besides his father, he is survived by his three children, Nikita Goncalves and Nicole Goncalves, both of Athol and Rebecca Goncalves of Hudson. He is also survived by his long time companion, Eliane Neto of Hudson; his two brothers, Manuel Goncalves and Joaquim Goncalves, both of Portugal; his sister, Fatima Goncalves of Portugal and his many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 7th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 6th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749
