Hudson, MA
Filomena Frias (Sousa) Chaves, of Hudson, died on Wednesday, Feb. 18th at her home in Hudson. She was the beloved wife of Jose Chaves who died in 1993.
She was born in Santa Maria, the Azores, daughter of the late Jose Joaquim and Maria de Jesus (Sousa) Sousa and was employed as a machine operator by the former Thomas Taylor Co. in Hudson until her retirement. She was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
She is survived by her children, Deolinda Chaves, Rosa Medeiros, Antonio Chaves, Lourdes Luz, all of Hudson; Nelia Baltazar of Marlboro and Maria Sousa of Palm Coast, Fla. She is also survived by 29 Grandchildren; 54 Great Grandchildren; 4 Great-Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 21st at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Feb. 20th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749.
