Flora M. (Diniz) Leveille 86, of Berlin, died Wednesday, Nov. 7th at Clinton Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert D. Leveille Sr. who died in 1965.
Flora was born in Marlboro, daughter of the late Sebastian and Mary (Freitas) Diniz. She was raised in Marlboro until the age of 13 when she and her family moved to Berlin. She was a 1944 graduate of Hudson High School. She spent most of her years raising her children in Berlin but spent some time working for Victory Plastics, Hudson Lock Co. and later on in her life she was employed at the Beaumont Nursing Home. Flora was well known in her community as a volunteer with the Berlin Meals on Wheals program. She also volunteered at the James II Soup Kitchen in Clinton and worked at the monthly congregate meal at the First Parish Church for the senior citizens. She spent 20 plus years working the First Parish Church Fair and also contributed to her own church's fair, Saint Joseph's Parish in Berlin.
She is survived by her three sons, Robert D. Leveille Jr. and his wife Jacquelyn of Berlin, James P. Leveille and his wife Caroline of Worcester and Steven C. Leveille and his wife Esther of Hudson. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Giusti of Concord; her brother, Joseph Diniz of Hudson; her 4 grandchildren, John E. Leveille of Auburn, Robert D. Leveille III of Tampa, FL, Danielle Leveille and Nicole Leveille, both of Worcester; her great grandson Nathan and her nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may attend a funeral mass to be celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 10th at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Joseph the Good Provider Church, 52 West Street, Berlin. Burial services will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Beach Street, Marlboro. There are no calling hours.
