Florence E. Phaneuf, 98, a lifelong resident of Hudson, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2021, at The Coleman House in Northborough, after a period of declining health.
Florence was born in Hudson on July 8, 1922, a daughter of the late Oscar N. and Laura M. (Rougeau) Phaneuf. She was raised in Hudson and graduated from Hudson High School Class of 1941. She worked for many years as an administrative clerk for Hudson Light and Power before retiring.
She was a lifelong and devout parishioner of Saint Michael Church in Hudson and was well known in the community as a former Girl Scout Leader and an active member of the Hudson Senior Center. Florence also enjoyed photography and was an avid camper and skier.
Florence is survived by her godchildren, Denise and Kenneth Travers and many other close friends. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother Arnold Phaneuf, who was killed in action defending our Nation during WWII.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at Saint Michael Cemetery on Cox St. in Hudson.
