Florence Anne (Ziane) Simarano, 89, of Concord, formerly of Marlboro and Hudson, passed away on April 2nd at the Walden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Concord after a long period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent Simarano who died in 1966.
Florence was born and raised in Hudson, daughter of the late Bonifacio and Maria (DiBuono) Ziane. She spent most of her adult years as a resident of Marlboro, working and caring for children and grandchildren. She held many jobs during her lifetime, working for the Raytheon Co., Marlboro Hospital and as a beloved "lunch lady" at Marlboro Middle School.
Florence was a friend to all animals. She supported many rescue organizations and provided a loving home to many strays during her lifetime. She enjoyed bingo at the Hudson Elks and loved trips to Foxwoods.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Simarano of Leominster; two daughters, Paula Tessier and her husband Doug of Moosup, CT, Elaine Ambrose and her husband David of Peterborough, NH; her brother, Dominic Ziane and her two sisters, Gilda O'Callaghan and Viola Bairos, all of Hudson. She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Anne Trudeau, Mary Campos, Natalie Alexander and Joseph Ziane.
Family and friends may attend a calling hour on Friday, April 6th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 followed by funeral service on Friday, April 6th at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Marlboro.
