Francis J. "Frank" Deptula, 75, of Hudson and Pine Point, ME died Tuesday, Sept. 2 at his family's residence in Marlboro. He was the husband of Sara Ann "Sally" (Dunbar) Deptula of Hudson for 46 years.
Born in Hudson, son of the late Ignatz and Veronica (Noga) Deptula, he was a 1951 graduate of Hudson H.S. and 1953 graduate of the Wentworth Institute in Boston. He was a former employee as a design draftsman for Atkins and Merrill, Lapointe's in Hudson, Riley Stoker of Worcester and the Raytheon Co. He was a former employee at Hannaford's Market, formerly Victory Market in Hudson. Frank was a life member of the Hudson Elks serving 2 terms as Exalted Ruler and held other various offices within the club. He also held several state positions in the Elks over his many years of service. He was a member of the Mass East Central District P.E.R. Assoc.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Dori La Bella and husband Daniel of Warwick, RI, Stefan Deptula and wife Rosalind of Standish, ME and Sherri Fedele and husband Mark of Clinton. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Antonia and Catherine La Bella, Jack and Rogan Deptula and Alicia and Tanner Fedele and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Alyce Bousquet.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, Sept. 5 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749. The Hudson Elks will conduct their ritual Friday evening at 6:30 p.m.
