Francis “Frank” R. Edral, 81, a lifelong Hudson resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Marlborough Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his beloved wife of 52 years, Sylvia M. (George) Edral.
In addition to his wife he is also survived by his daughter, Jodi-Ann Gordan and her husband Daniel of North Grafton, his grandson Ryan J. Gordan and his brother-in-law, Octavio Torres. Frank was predeceased by his parents, John and Anna (Izedoro) Edral and his sister, Connie Torres.
Frank was born in Clinton Hospital, on June 6, 1937, a son of two hardworking immigrants from Portugal. Frank was raised in Hudson, MA, graduating from Hudson High School in the class of 1955. After finishing school, Frank enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving his Nation from 1957 until 1962. Shortly after returning from service, he married the love of his life, Sylvia M. (George) Edral and together they embarked on a 52 year marriage of love and happiness. Frank had a long and successful career working for the Town of Hudson eventually retiring as the General Foreman for the Hudson Public Works Department. He was a former member of Christ the King Church in Hudson.
Frank was a good man and a great husband and father. He was a cigar aficionado who enjoyed spending his evenings relaxing on his porch enjoying a good cigar. He was also a very talented wood carver and enjoyed gardening and watching baseball. In the summer Frank could usually be found in York Beach, Maine.
Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours from 4 pm until 7 pm on Monday, December 10, 2018 followed by a celebration of his life at 7 pm at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. Burial will be private at a later time.
