Francisco Lino, 97, of Hudson, died Thursday, Sept. 4 at UMASS Memorial Healthcare, University Campus in Worcester. He was the husband of the late Maria (Eugenia) Lino who died in 1967.
Born in Portugal, son of the late Manuel and Teresa J. (Barreira) Lino , Francisco was raised in Portugal and worked on the family farm as a young adult. He moved to Hudson from Portugal in 1966 and worked as a machine operator for Independent Cable Co., formerly of Hudson until his retirement. He was a member of the former Christ King Parish in Hudson and was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson. He was a member of the Hudson Portuguese Club and enjoyed all types of outdoor activities.
He is survived by his children, Olga Ferreira and husband Antonio of Hudson, Fernando Lino and wife Olimpia of South Carolina, Maria D. Cruz and husband Gabriel, Antonio Lino and wife Alcina, Rosa Cardoso and husband Augusto and Zaira Pires and husband Joaquim, all of Hudson. He is also survived by his brother Joao Lino of Portugal; 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, Sept. 5 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749.
