Gail was born on July 14, 1940, in Somerville, MA, one of two daughters of the late Stanley and Mildred (Anderson) Patterson. Gail attended Arlington High School, graduating in the class 1958 and shortly after began dating the love of her life John Potter, eventually marrying and settling down in Sudbury, where they have resided for over 58 years.
Gail had many hobbies and talents throughout her life. She worked for many years as a cashier at First National which in later years became Sudbury Farms. She loved to cook, spend time with her family and friends, and cherished every second she spent with them. She was a social butterfly. She enjoyed meeting new people and could make friends and strike a conversation with strangers wherever she went. Gail had a special place in her heart for her beloved cats, labs, and golden retrievers that were part of her family throughout the many years; most recently “Molly” her golden retriever and Sam her giant cat who both predeceased her this year. She was also an avid bowler over the last 50 years, bowling 2-3x a week in Cambridge, Shrewsbury, Auburn and Hanscom Field Air Force based, Bedford with her family and many longtime friends. Gail was a spitfire! A selfless and thoughtful person who always took care of others and made other people happy. Her gift of gab and many acts of kindness will be truly missed by all who know her.
In addition to her husband, John H. Potter, she is also survived by her 4 children, James H. Potter and his wife June of North Las Vegas, NV, Daniel F. Potter of Lancaster, MA, Dennis J.
