Gary V. Lyons

Gary Vincent Lyons, 62, of Lancaster, MA, passed away at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta, Maine on Wednesday July 5, 2023, after a brief illness.

Gary is survived by his brothers Glenn Lyons, and John Flaherty; sisters Jayne (Lyons) McCarthy, Debby (Lyons) White; many nieces and nephews; as well as his second family Jack, Cathy, John, and Chris Finn. Gary is predeceased by his late parents John Vincent Lyons, Jr., and Laila E. (Mansfield) Lyons.

Gary and his twin brother, Glenn were as close as two people could be. They shared an unbreakable bond that transcended words - womb mates to roommates. Together, they faced the challenges of life side by side, offering to each other unwavering love, support, and indescribable camaraderie - as well as competitiveness.  Their unique connection was a testament to the power of siblinghood, and a source of immeasurable strength.

Gary touched the lives of many through his extraordinary sense of humor and quick wit, as well as his love of all things outdoors including fishing, boating, and snowmobiling. Gary had an infectious laugh, a warm smile, and unwavering support for his family and friends.

Friends, family, and colleagues are invited to attend a Graveside Committal service for Gary, which will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Evergreen Cemetery, 133 Wilson Street, Marlborough, MA, under the direction of Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral home. All are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. Gary will be buried next to his mother. A Celebration of Life will be held in Gary’s honor in early September, at date and time to be determined.
