Gaston Oliver Renaud III, 72, of Clinton, MA, passed away peacefully, on Friday, February 18, 2022 at UMass Medical Center University Campus, in Worcester, after a period of declining health.
Gaston was born on September 28, 1949, in Marlborough, MA, a son of the late Gaston O. Renaud Jr. and Theresa A. (Lizotte) Renaud. He was raised in Marlborough where he graduated from a vocational school for machinery. Shortly after graduation he bravely at 17 years of age enlisted in the United States Navy, honorably serving from March 5, 1968 until January 28, 1970, during the Vietnam War. During his duty he was stationed on the USS Saratoga and received the National Defense Service Medal. Gaston worked for many years as a machinist in Marlborough, before eventually retiring.
Gaston had many hobbies and interests throughout the years. He was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and V F W Post 638 in Marlborough. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and camping with his family, playing pool as well as working on his cars and teaching his children how to fix them. He especially enjoyed playing digital poker and collecting wolf paraphernalia and had many items displayed throughout his home.
Gaston is survived by his 3 daughters, Lee-Anna Renaud of Greenfield, MA, Gina (Renaud) Ferreira of Marlborough and Dyanne Renaud of Arizona; 3 sisters, Deborah DeFelice of Florida, Darline Falcone of Chicopee and Dawn Metcalf of Marlborough; 13 grandchildren, Alysa, Josiah, Jocelynn, Savannah, Eric Jr., Emerald, Kyle, Abigail, Ivory, Hyacinth, Odyssea, Onyx and Macaulay and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by his son, Steven M. Renaud and his brother-in-law, Kevin Kelly.
Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 10am until 12pm on Friday, March 4, 2022; followed by A Celebration of His life and United States Navy Military Funeral Honors at 12pm at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA.
