Geneva G. (Cumre) Vaillant, 97, of Hudson died on Friday, Oct. 9th at the Westfield Care and Rehabilitation Center in Westfield. She was the beloved wife for 62 years to the late Ernest L. Vaillant who died in 1991.
Geneva leaves her two daughters, Joan G. Parent of Barre, Louise Burnickas of Westfield and a son, Charles Vaillant of Rutland. She is also survived by nine Grandchildren; fifteen Great Grandchildren and two Step - Great Grandchildren all living in Florida, California and Massachusetts.
She was born in Fairfield, IL, daughter of the late George and Carrie (Reich) Cumre. She graduated from high school and later attended Nutritional Courses at Emerson Hospital and Marlboro Hospital. She later was employed for many years as an Assistant Dietitian for the two hospitals. She loved gardening, sewing, quilting, cosmetology and travel. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren's hockey games in Hudson and Soccer matches in Marlboro.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Oct. 14th at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in the Bourne National Cemetery, in Bourne, MA. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 13th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
