George A. "Jerry" Davis

George A. “Jerry” Davis, 86, of Hudson, MA, passed on Thursday, September 19, 2024. He was the beloved husband of 61 years to the late Judith Ann (Simoes) Davis, also of Hudson, MA, who passed in 2022.

Jerry was born on September 27, 1937, to his late parents George E. Davis and Alice (Clark) Davis. A life long resident of Hudson, Jerry graduated from Hudson High School class of 1957. Married his middle school sweetheart Judy Simoes Davis. In Feb of 1963 Jerry opened PJ's of Hudson; which is still family owned and operated. Jerry also owned Davis Bros Paving with his late brother Paul "Brudgie" Davis.  Jerry  owned and operated Rivers Edge Driving Range from April 1991-2007.  Jerry sponsored many football, darts, pool & softball teams thru the years.  

Jerry is survived by his sons Gerald Davis and his wife Connie of Hudson, MA, and Michael Davis and his wife Linda of Hudson, MA; his sister Jean Peletier; his grandchildren Steven Davis and his fiancé Jenny Hawes, Alex Davis, and Ryan Davis; his great-grandchildren Myla Davis and Kaia Davis; as well as other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Judith; his parents George and Alice Davis; his brothers Paul "Brudgie" Davis and Phil "Dilly" Davis; and his sister Joan "Sis" O’Brien.

Jerry loved spending time at his house on Lake Boon. He also enjoyed gardening, splitting wood, and spending time with family  and friends. He will always be remembered for his motto that you wake up every day with a purpose, Jerry was hard working man and took pride in everything he did. Jerry will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Especially to those who had the honor of being in his circle of family/friends. Jerry would never admit to it but if you needed help he would always help you regardless. Jerry's grandsons meant everything to him, he always knew all he had to do was make a call and one of them would be there regardless. Jerry's greatest joy was watching Myla & Kaia running around and playing. Jerry also enjoyed watching his great grandson Jensen who he said had a beautiful smile.

Calling Hours for Jerry will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 10am-12pm, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA. A Funeral Service will be celebrated immediately following Calling Hours, beginning at 12pm, on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home; followed by a procession to Forestvale Cemetery on Broad Street in Hudson, MA, for Committal Services. We will celebrate Jerry at PJ'S for those who would like to come share  a story or two following the burial.
