Hudson, MA
George M. Chiasson 51, of Hudson, died Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston after being stricken ill at work.
He leaves his wife of 15 years, Pamela (Rynning) Chiasson of Hudson.
Born in Waltham, MA, he was the son of the late George V. and Emma M. (Schrage) Chiasson.
He was raised in Hudson and was a graduate of Hudson H.S. class of 1974. He resided in Boston for a short time during the late 80's and early 90's and returned to Hudson where he has resided since.
He was currently employed as a Stage Hand and previously as an Assistant Manager for International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Local 11 in Boston. Prior to that he was employed by the former Don Law Productions in Boston and the Hudson Boy's and Girl's Club in Hudson as a Program Director. He was the founder of Performance Platforms in Hudson.
He was an accomplished drummer and has performed with bands such as the Dharma Bums, Popskull and Hip Civilians and was currently performing with Local #519 and Cold Duck.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Hudson where he was a percussion player for the church's Worship Team and member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Hudson. He was a devoted coach for the Hudson Youth Basketball and Baseball programs, he was currently the Hudson Parks Commissioner and served on the Hudson Conservation Committee.
He was devoted to his family, church and cherished his lifetime heroes, his mom and dad, his wife Pam and his children Cole and Luke.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his 2 sons, Cole M. and Luke A. Chiasson of Hudson; his brothers and sisters, Kevin Chiasson and his wife Edith, Michael Chiasson and his wife Jen, Robert Chiasson, Blair Chiasson and Denise Gouveia and her husband Al, all of Hudson and Melissa Hachmeister and her husband Damon of Grafton. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be celebrated Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Baptist Church, 353 River Rd. in Hudson, MA. Burial will be in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours Wednesday, Jan. 2, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc., 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
