George V. Fish, 89, of North Attleboro, formerly of Hudson, died on Monday, December 19th at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center. He was the beloved husband of 47 years to the late Irene (Dupont) Fish who died in 1993.
George was born and raised in Hudson, son of the late George and Alice (Berry) Fish. He attended local schools and was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He was employed as an engineer for many years by the former Foxboro Co. in Foxboro until his retirement. He has resided in North Attleboro since 1979.
George was an accomplished wood carver, he carved many items throughout the years which he shared with his family and friends. He was an avid cribbage player and a life member of the V.F.W. of Hudson.
He is survived by daughter, Elaine Fish of Hudson; his son, George B. Fish of South Carolina and was predeceased by his daughter, Lee.Fish of North Carolina in 2006. He is also survived by his sister, Virginia White of Plymouth; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Hazel Longhi.
Family and friends may attend a calling hour on Thursday, Dec. 29th from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 followed by a funeral service on Thursday, Dec. 29th at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson.
