George D. Taylor Jr., 66, of Hudson, died Friday, May 21st at Metro West Medical Center, Framingham Union Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janice (Smolen) Taylor of Hudson.
George was the son of the late George D. and Marie (Farina) Taylor. He attended local schools in Hudson and was a graduate of Hudson High School, class of 1961. He was employed as a mechanic for many years at Tuck's Truck Sales of Hudson and most recently for Tuck's Service Center of Hudson until his retirement in 2003. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He especially enjoyed the times he spent at his cottage on Skiff Lake in New Brunswick, Canada. He was a life member of the Hudson Lodge of Elks and a member of the Hudson Rod & Gun Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sister Ann Marie Ferrara of Hudson; his nieces, Tonia Bouvier, Tara Williamson, Tressa and Tatum Ferrara and nine great nieces and nephews. He also leaves his beloved yellow lab "Maggie".
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 25th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 24th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the: Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
