Gilbert H. Collins, 77, of Hudson, died on Friday, April 1st at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus in Worcester. He was the husband of the late Marie Collins who died in 2010 and Frances Joan Collins who died in 1984.

Gilbert was born and raised in Wayland, son of the late Donald and Rebecca Collins. He was a long time employee of the Dept. Public Works in Hudson as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. He was a member of HOG (Harley Owners Group).

Gilbert had many interests in his life but always looked forward to a good long ride on his Harley Motorcycle. He enjoyed snowmobiling in the winter months with family and friends and camping trips where always one of his favorite. Most of all he cherished being around his family, especially with his grandchildren and later his great grandchildren. His memories will live on with all who loved and knew him.

He is survived by his son Robert Collins and his wife Michelle of Hudson along with his three daughters, Debbie, Cindy and Donna of California. He is also survived by his loving granddaughter, Cassandra Collins and her partner Tom Ware of Marlboro; his two adoring great grandchildren, Michael and Melanie Ware; his friend and companion Judy Calhoun of Hudson; his sister, Barbara Pierce of Florida; many nieces and nephews and loyal friends.

Family and friends may attend a calling hour on Saturday, April 9th from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 followed by a funeral service and celebration of Gilbert's Life in the funeral home. Burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson.
