Gloria J. (Shomph) Schrager

Gloria J. (Shomph) Schrager, 80, of Hudson, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 20, 2023, after a period of declining health at The Coleman House in Northborough, MA .

Gloria was born on January 21, 1943, in New Waterford, Nova Scotia, Canada, to the late Hubert and Clara (Chiasson) Shomph. She was the youngest of 5 daughters.

She is survived by her husband and love of her life for over 60 years, Joseph (“Joey”) D. Schrager; her daughters Michele (Schrager) Dusseault and her husband, Retired Fire Chief, Frederick of Stow, MA, and Karen (Schrager) Trainor of Hudson, MA; her son Donald Schrager of Palm Coast, FL; her sisters Louise (Shomph) Grix of Winter Garden, FL, Geraldine (Shomph) MacKinnon and her husband John of Hudson, MA, Joan (Shomph) Thoresz and her husband Hank of Round Rock, TX, and Bernice Spina of Mamaroneck, NY; her grandson Jeremy Dusseault of Hudson, MA; her granddaughter Oliva Schrager of Palm Coast, FL; her aunt Velma Perisse of Newtown, CT; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom she loved very much.

Her greatest joy was being with her husband, Joey, and spending time with her family. She loved baking, and made the best chocolate chip cookies, jam-jams, fudge squares, and brownies. Her family was her passion, and she will always be remembered by those who loved and knew her.

Gloria’s family would also like to extend their gratitude to the Notre Dame Healthcare Hospice nurses, aides, and caregivers who took care of Gloria for the last few months. You are all angels on Earth.

Calling hours for Gloria will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA; with a Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 p.m., and followed-by a procession to Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson, MA, for committal services.
