Harold J. Rocheleau, 79, died January 2, 2006 due to complications from pneumonia at Marlboro Hospital in Marlboro. He was surrounded by many family members and his wife of 52 years Shirley(Alzapiedi) Rocheleau. Born in Hudson, son of Harold and Elsie (Charbonneau) Rocheleau, he lived all of his life in Hudson.
He served in the navy during WWII and later the Seabees before being honorably discharged as a coxswain in May of 1946. He was employed by Gould National Battery in Marlboro for 22 years and also worked for The Labors Union in Framingham.
An avid sportsman he was a member of the Riverside Gun Club in Hudson were he was instrumental in the planning and building of the first archery course at the club, and was also a member of the VFW Post 1027 in Hudson.
Besides his wife he is survived by his sons David Rocheleau and his wife Elizabeth of Boxboro, Joseph and his companion Stephanie of Natick, his daughter Diane Ghize and her husband David of Hudson and daughter in-law Rhonda Rocheleau of Maynard. He is also survived by his brothers Robert Rocheleau and his wife Velma of Hudson, Paul Rocheleau and his wife Sandra of Marlboro, Richard Rocheleau of Hudson, James Rocheleau of Boston and his sister Mary Hammond of Marlboro, eight grandchildren, Michael Rocheleau of Boxboro, Ryan, Danielle and Katie Rocheleau of Maynard, Kyle and Mackenzie Rocheleau of Natick and Wyatt and Morgan Ghize of Hudson along with many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held from the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home Inc, 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749 Friday, January 6, 2006 with a funeral mass at 9:00am in Saint Michaels Church 21 Manning street Hudson MA. Calling hours will be Thursday, January 5 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Burial will be in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson.
