Helen R. (Daigneault) Best, 87, a lifelong resident of Hudson, died on Tuesday, July 5th surrounded by her loving family at her residence.
Helen was born and raised in Hudson, daughter of the late Leve F. and Rose A. (Lanoue) Daigneault. She attended local schools and was a 1942 graduate of Hudson High School. Helen later attended Mass Memorial Nursing School in Boston where she studied nursing and graduated in 1945. Helen worked as a Registered Nurse for many years at Marlboro Hospital until her retirement. Helen was a member of the former Christ the King Parish in Hudson where she was a choir member and also was a member of the Hudson Senior Center where she was very active within the organization.
She is survived by her two daughters, Rosemary Best of Hudson and Michele Best of Lowell. She is also survived by her two brothers, Donald Daigneault and his wife Beverly , Albert Daigneault and his wife Jane, all of Hudson; several nieces and nephews and many cousins.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 8th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 7th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (www.tighehamilton.com).
