Helen M. (McNally) Murphy age 99. Of Hudson, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, Jan. 21st. Beloved wife of the late P. Joseph Murphy. Mrs. Murphy was born in Clinton MA and has lived in Hudson for the last 71 years. She was the devoted mother of three daughters; Mary Ellen Arsenault and her husband John of Hudson MA, Anne Marie Bloch and her husband Kenneth of Charlotte NC, and Joan P. Garvin and her husband Brendan of Hudson MA.
Mrs. Murphy leaves nine grandchildren; Joseph Arsenault and his wife Arlana, Christopher Arsenault, Nancy Arsenault King and her husband Dana, Brendan Garvin and his wife Viki, Brian Garvin and his wife Stephanie, Patrick Garvin and his wife Beth, Dennis Garvin, Kenneth Bloch and his wife Candace, and Matthew Bloch and his wife Mary. She also leaves nine great-grandchildren, a sister Rita K. Dallas of Santa Margarita CA, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a sister Alice Schilckman Minehan, and two brothers, John McNally and Peter McNally.
Helen was a Member of the Catholic Daughters of America, The Ladies Rosary Sodality, and the Hudson Women's Club. She will be remembered for her beautiful sense of humor, her love of her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her devotion to The Blessed Mother.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael Church in Hudson, at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, followed by burial in Forestvale Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, Jan. 23, 4 to 8 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street Hudson MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Murphy's memory may be made to the Hudson Food Pantry, 28 Houghton Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
