Helen Marie (Farley) Shaughnessy-77, of Hudson, MA, died peacefully, Monday, March 19, 2007 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was wife to the late Robert Edward Shaughnessy who died in 1999.
She was born on March 21, 1929 in Newburyport, MA, daughter of the late Valmore and Dorothy (Baddock) Farley.
She was raised in Marlborough, MA and lived most of her adult life in Hudson, MA. She worked as a telephone operator for New England Telephone and Telegraph in the Odd Fellows building in Hudson, MA in the 1950's. She also worked as a switchboard receptionist for Cushing Hospital in Framingham, MA from 1970 until her retirement when the hospital closed in 1992.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend who was strong and inspirational to all who knew and loved her. She suffered and survived many catastrophic illnesses since the early 1980's and fought through it all with miraculous courage and strength. She will be missed greatly by all.
She leaves her 4 children, Linda (Cox) Sleeper and her husband Ralph, Kathleen (Shaughnessy) Villanueva and her husband William, Robert Shaughnessy and his wife Wendy, and Paul Shaughnessy, all of Hudson, MA. She also leaves her 4 grandchildren, Christopher Cox and his wife Jennifer of Brookline, MA, Melissa Sleeper and her fiancAC. Michael Luongo of Tewksbury, MA, Kaitlin and Jessica Shaughnessy of Hudson, MA and her sister, Dorothy (Farley) Boule of Marlborough, MA, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, March 23, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michaels Church 21 Manning street Hudson, MA. Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 22, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Marlborough, MA.
