Helen (Kotarski) Shiers,103, of Hudson, MA died Monday, December 10, 2007 at Bolton Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Marlborough, MA where she was a resident for the past 7 A½ years.
She was the wife of the late Walter Shiers who passed away in 1985.
Born in Poland, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Franciska (Buchole) Kotarski. After living in Greenfield, MA, she moved to Hudson, where she resided most of her life.
She attended Hudson schools and worked at the former Firestone Rubber Co. and the former Thomas Taylor & Sons as an inspector until her retirement. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Hudson.
She leaves two sisters, Lenora Broderick of Hudson, MA, Isabel Pesci of Staten Island, NY, and several nephews and nieces and many great and great grand nephews and nieces. She was the sister of the late Stanley, Steven and Vincent Kotarski, Freida Kowaleska and Irene Boland.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007 at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will be in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 15, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service in the funeral home.
