Helen E. (Frye) Zina, 79, of Hudson, died Tuesday, Oct. 28 at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center. She was the beloved wife of Walter M. Zina who passed away in 1982.
She was born and raised in Maynard, daughter of the late Harry A. and Grace E. "Belle" (Carr) Frye, and attended local schools in Maynard. She moved to Hudson in 1946 where she raised her family and took great pride in the care of her home.
She is survived by her 8 children, Walter H. Zina and wife Betty of Hudson, Dorthy Zina of Northboro, Steve Zina and wife Kelly of Clinton, Joan Darling and husband Dave of Barnstead, NH, Tom Zina and wife Christine of Belmont, NH, Zenna Marlow of Marlboro, Zorra Hartwell and companion Mike of Savana, GA and James Zina of Vermont. She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren; one great grandchild; her brother, Roger Frye of Marlboro and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Marshall Frye and Elsie Frye.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 31 at 10:00 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. A calling hour will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home prior to the service.
