Helena R. Cabral, 92, of Hudson, died on Monday, April 1st at Marlboro Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Helena was born and raised in Santa Maria, the Azores of Portugal, daughter of the late Antonio and Umblina (Freitas) Rego. She has resided in Hudson since 1976 and was employed by the Hudson Lock Co. for many years until her retirement in 1983. She was a member of the Bridgewater Holy Ghost Society; member of the Hudson Portuguese Club and member of Saint Michael Parish in Hudson.
She is survived by her four children, Jose H. Rego and his wife Maria R. of Hudson, Teresa M. Lopes, wife of the late Guilherme Lopes of Brockton, Antonio T. Rego and his wife Maria R. of Santa maria, Portugal and Manuel A. Rego and his wife Filomena of Marlboro. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 3rd at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Tuesday, April 2nd from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
