Helio M. Bairos, 72, of Hudson, MA, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

Helio was born and raised in Terceira, the Azores of Portugal, son of the late Joao Chaves Bairos and Maria C. (Monteiro) Bairos. He emigrated to the United States in 1974 settling in Hudson, MA. He was employed for 45 plus years by Middlesex Research in Hudson, MA until his retirement in 2017. 

Helio is survived by his wife Rosa Maria (Medeiros) Bairos and his two children, Stephanie Bairos and Michael Bairos. He was the loving grandfather of Miley Rose Bairos. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, his cousins in America and Canada along with many friends.. 

Helio had many interests and hobbies but he cherished his family, especially later spending time with his granddaughter Miley Rose. His passion was to be with his best friend and fishing partner Antonio “Patacho” Resendes who will miss Helio greatly. Heading to the boat for a day of fishing off Block Island was always special and done frequently. Helio will always be remembered for his love of family, friends and fishing. He will truly be missed but never forgotten by all who loved and knew him.

 Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 4:00pm to 6pm on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A service and celebration of Helio’s life will follow at 6pm in the funeral home. The family will gather privately at a later date for burial in Saint Michael Cemetery, Hudson, MA.
