Iakovos "Mike"Papanikolaou, 59, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at Marlboro Hospital after being stricken ill. He was the Husband of Frederiki (Paroussis) Papanikolaou . Born in Athens, Greece, son of Kosmas and Anastasia (Kounadi) Papanikolaou, he was employed by the town of Hudson Department of Public Works. He was a member of the State and Counties Employee's Association, the Order of Ahepa in Marlboro, served in the Greek Navy from 1964 to 1966 and was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church Saints Anargyroi in Marlboro. He was deeply loved by his family and friends. Mike will be greatly missed and will be remembered forever in our hearts.
Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter Anastasia Papanikolaou of Hudson and his son Cosmas Papanikolaou of Amesbury. He is also survived by his sister Chrisoula Altani and her family of Athens, Greece, two nieces also from Greece, five nieces, four nephews, five brothers in law and 2 sisters in law.
His funeral will be held Monday December 12, 2005 from the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749 with a Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. in the Greek Orthodox Church Saints Anargyroi, 9 Central St. Marlboro, MA. Calling hours will be Sunday December 11, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson.
