Ida Jane (Nowlan) Bartlett, 84, of Berlin, died on Tuesday, July 28th at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of 57 years to the late Phillip W. Bartlett who died in 2008.
Jane was born and raised in Hudson, daughter of the late Ralph G. and Marguerite (LaFrance) Nowlan. She attended local schools and was a 1949 graduate of Hudson High School. She later received her degree in Nursing from the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing in 1951 and worked as a Registered Nurse for many years at Marlborough Hospital. She was a member of the Women's Evening Guild in Berlin; the Berlin Senior Center; member of Saint Joseph's the Good Provider Parish in Berlin as well a Girl Scout Leader in Berlin.
Jane enjoyed traveling and arts and crafts in her spare time. She, along with her husband Phillip, always looked forward to planning many trips and special events for the seniors of Berlin. She truly cherished the times she spent with her family, especially with her grandchildren and later her great grandchildren. She was loved by all and will truly be missed.
She is survived by her four children, Rodney Bartlett and his fiancAC. Linda Chase of Atkinson, NH, Debbie Pelkey and her husband Bob of Sandwich, Karen Bartlett of Berlin and Amy Messcher and her husband David of Ayer. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Nowlan and his wife Barbara of Edmunds, WA; her 9 loving grandchildren; 6 adoring great grandchildren along with her nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Gloria McManus.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, Aug. 7th at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Joseph's the Good Provider Church, 52 West Street, (Rt. 62) Berlin. Burial will follow in North Cemetery, Berlin. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Aug. 6th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-AHamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
