Jaime Collazo, 70, of Hernando, FL, formerly of Marlboro, died on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Oak Hill Hospital in Spring Hill, FL. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lynda (Perkins) Collazo of Hernando, FL.

Jaime was born in Guayama, Puerto Rico son of the late Juan Bautista Rivera and Justina Collazo. He moved to New York at the age of 5 where he was raised, resided in Natick and then Marlboro for many years before moving to Hernando, FL 16 years ago. He was employed by Sealtest/Good Humor Breyer in Framingham for 37 years, working in the warehouse, a member of the Teamsters Union Local 25, and union steward at the plant.

On May 1, 2013, Jaime's lifelong dream became reality when he opened Lake Side Boxing in Hernando, FL. His mission statement: We teach boxing; The sport of fighting with fists with padded gloves in a roped square ring according to the Queensberry Rules. Strictly boxing. Jaime opened Lake Side Boxing with a vision; a place for boys and girls to come and participate in something that would shape character, teach perseverance, commitment, hard work, patience and endurance. With perseverance comes confidence, with confidence comes the respect and understanding of the discipline necessary to become successful; life lessons to be learned.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, James Collazo and his wife Debbie Collazo of Buckeye, Arizona; his daughter, Lisa Collazo, of Framingham, MA; his two brothers, Alex Aponte of St. Petersburg, FL, Ismael Claudio of Puerto Rico; five grandchildren, Marissa Rene Collazo, Dylan James Collazo, Katrina Marie Collazo, Jaime-Ann Cosme and Alexander Cosme; and one great-grandchild, Aidan Jace Collazo; sister-in-law, Nancy Morin and husband Philip Morin of Weare, NH, and in-laws, George and Janet Perkins of Hudson. He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at 9 a.m. in St. Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial services will be held in St. Michael's Cemetery, Hudson, at a later date. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Friday, July 12, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc., 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749
