James Edward Coston

James Edward Coston “Buddy”, 76, of Hudson, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at UMass Medical Center, after a period of declining health. He leaves his devoted wife of over 43 years, Maria A. (Luz) Coston.

James was born in Belle Haven, Virginia, on March 24, 1943, one of 14 children of the late James Henry Coston and Bessie Coston Godwin. He was raised in Eastern Shore, Virginia, where he graduated High School. He later moved to Massachusetts, where he resided for over 40 years. James enjoyed playing cards and listening to gospel music. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

James is also survived by twelve children, Larry Coston and his wife Danielle, Ricky Coston and his wife Marcia, Cedric Coston and his wife Dolores, Bernadette Coston, Mario Coston and his fiancé Gina Quinn, James Coston, Jr. and his wife Teresa, Joe Zompetti and his companion Samantha Brown, Susie Zompetti and her companion Kevin Stevens, Linda Ready and her companion Steven Dube, John Zompetti and his wife Trina, Nelson Zompetti and Michael Zompetti and his wife Brandi; his siblings,  Maryann McDonald, Doris Nock and her Husband Horace, Barbara Singh, Pamela Savage, Janice Treherne and her husband Armour, Deborah Coston and Alvin Coston; 36 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Thelma Savage, Francis Strand, Julius Coston, Conway Coston, Irvin Coston and William Coston.

Relative and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 5 pm until 8 pm on Friday, June 28, 2019, at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA 01749. A Celebration of His Life will be held the following day at 10 am, Saturday, June 29, 2019 in the funeral home; followed by interment in Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson.
