James Thomas Cuddy, 76, of Hudson, died Monday morning, Sept. 6th at his residence in Hudson surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Gloria J. (Evans) Cuddy of Hudson.
Born in Marlborough, son of the late Winthrop and Mary Catherine (O'Loughlin) Cuddy, James was raised in Marlboro and Clinton and was a 1952 graduate of Clinton High School. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving aboard the USS Intrepid during the Korean War. Most recently he was employed as a quality control supervisor for 15 plus years by Bemis Associates of Gardner until his retirement in 1995.
James was a member of the Hudson Eagle's, Hudson Amvets and most of all enjoyed the many rounds of golf he played, a game he cherished and loved. He was a former member of the Paul & Jerry's softball team in the mid 70's.
Besides his wife Gloria, James is survived by his children, Shawn Cuddy of Colorado, Lynn Helefe and her husband Stephen of New York, Lorie Massa and her husband Louis of Sterling and Jamie Cuddy of Westboro. He also leaves his loving grandchildren, Harrison and Travis Helefe and Marycatherine and Emma Massa.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 8th at 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Burial in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Cox Street, Hudson will be held on Thursday, Sept. 9th at 11:00 a.m.
