James M. Gustafson, 73, of Hudson, died on Wednesday, Nov. 4th at Marlboro Hospital. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Barbara (Tarka) Gustafson of Hudson.
Born and raised in Hudson, son of the late Carl and Ruth (Peel) Gustafson, James was a life long resident of Hudson and graduate of Hudson High School, class of 1954. He owned and operated Country Rug in Hudson for 35 years and served on the board of the Council on Aging in Hudson for 30 years. He was a life member of the Hudson Lodge of Elks.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Sara Keener and her husband Brian of Hudson and Ann Gustafson-Sawtelle and her husband Michael of Hudson. He is also survived by his sister, Janet Plausse and her husband Bob of Lincolnville, ME; his granddaughter, Jasmine and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7th at 11:00 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6th at the funeral home.
