HUDSON

James "Bud", "RB", F. O'Connor, Jr., 79, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, February 5, 2017. He was born in Newton, the son of James F., Sr. and Helen (Hartman) O'Connor and had lived in Hudson since 1963.

He leaves his wife of 59 years, Janet D. (Bartley) O'Connor; his son, David J. O'Connor and his wife, Stephanie of Hudson; his sister, Carol Schraisson of Leominster; two grandchildren, James and Troy; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Eleanor Hunter and Gail O'Connor and his brother, William Bright.

Buddy served his country and was Specialist 4th Class in the U.S. Army during the early 1960's. He owned and operated Northborough Radiator Jim's Auto Service for many years. He also owned and operated B&R Wood Products Sawmill in Stow Mass till the day he passed.

Buddy was a proud member of the NRA and enjoyed competing nationally as a marksman in black powder competitions. Later in his days he enjoyed trips to Foxwoods casino with his wife Janet and his sister in law Lu Ann Harvey. He will
always miss the "Boys on the Hill at C&B Enterprises" in Bolton Mass.

Over the last 17 years Buddy's passion became spending time with his grandsons Troy and James. He could always be found down at the mill with James doing some project or teaching him life's lessons. He valued his time with his grandsons and would often be heard telling them stories "over and over" again. The boys loved their grandfather very much and listened to each story as it was the first time they ever heard it. They will miss their "Grampy" very much and appreciated the time they did have with him be it so short.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 10th from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson. Burial will follow at Forestvale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Veteran's Inc., 69 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605.
