Jane A. (Nemensky) Matthew, of Ashland, died on Tuesday, Jan. 8th at MetroWest Medical Center, Framingham Union Hospital. She was the wife of the late William Matthew Jr. who died in 2011.
Jane was born and raised in Boston, daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia (Berencoska) Nemensky. She has resided in Ashland the last 30 plus years and was a long time Office Manager for Cabot House Furniture Store in Framingham and also worked at the Bird In Hand Gift Shop of Holliston. Jane was an active member and frequent volunteer at the Ashland Senior Center and enjoyed gardening in her spare time. She also looked forward to her frequent trips with family and friends to Foxwoods and traveling.
She is survived by her son, Paul Matthew and his wife Cheryl of Hudson; her daughter, Deborah Chalmers and her husband Scott of Ashland; her two granddaughters, Kristen and Rachel Matthew of Hudson and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph Nemensky, Francis Nemensky, Florence O'Malley, Mary Mirowski, Rita Azevedo, Bernice O'Dea and Winifred Lewon.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 12th at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in The Gardens at Gethsemane Cemetery, West Roxbury, MA. Family and friends may attend a calling hour on Saturday, Jan. 12th from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
