Janice M. (Richardson) Strom, 92, a longtime resident of Bolton, passed away peacefully on New Years Day, at Emerson Hospital, surrounded by her family. She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Richard A. Strom, who predeceased her in 1994.
Janice was born in Waltham, MA, on March 31, 1930, one half of a set of twin girls of the late Warren and Esther (MacIntosh) Richardson. She was raised in Waltham, where she graduated from Waltham High School. She moved to Bolton in 1966 and later briefly lived in Maynard for two years before finally settling back in Bolton for good. In her early years she worked as a telephone operator, but spent the majority of her career as a cafeteria worker at the Bolton Public Elementary School before retiring. Janice enjoyed bird watching, as well as attending bible classes at the Hudson First Federated Church. She also loved taking trips to Lake Winnipesaukee to visit her friends.
Janice is survived by her 2 sons, Todd D. Strom and his wife Janice of Pepperil and Dean H. Strom and his wife Doris of Bolton; 2 granddaughters, Laura B. Whyte and her husband Kevin and Lisa K. Strom; 2 great grandchildren, Alex and Charlie Whyte; 2 step grandchildren, Michelle MacDonald and Eric Richards, 3 step great grandchildren, Stephanie MacDonald, Madelyn MacDonald and Hunter Richards and 1 step great great grandchild, Austyn Carney. She is also survived by her 2 close friends, Sandy Weagle and Sherry Williams. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her twin sister, Barbara Doyle.
A graveside service will be held at a later date. Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with her arrangements.
